Located in the center of Lak district, stretching from Lien Son town through Lac Thien pass to the boundary of Dak Lieng commune, Lak lake is likened to a unique feature of the Central Highlands.

Lak Lake covers an area of ​​more than 500 hectares and is one of the largest natural lakes in the Central Highlands. The lake surface is winding like a silk strip, the North covers half of Lien Son town, the West is fertile fields, extends to Krong Ana district, around the lake are settlement villages of the Mnong people. Ede.

Looking down from the top of Lac Thien pass, the landscape appears with a splendid beauty: cloudy sky, lakes, hills, and fields are mixed together. In the rainy season, the lake water rises, the fields next to the lake are flooded, it looks like a lake in the middle of the mountain. After a few days of rain, the alluvial soil settles down, the water surface is blue again combined with the green color of the trees along the lake to create a poetic natural scene.

Lak Lake is a place that provides an abundant source of aquatic products for Lak district and surrounding areas. Besides, the lake is also associated with many legends of the birth of land and water of the Mnong people in Dak Lak.

With practical economic and tourism values, on May 11, 1993, the Minister of Culture and Information issued Decision No. 534-QD/BT ranking Lak Lake as a National Landscape.
