Buon H'Ngo Waterfall is located in Hoa Phong commune, Krong Bong district, about 70 km southeast of Buon Ma Thuot city center. As a beautiful and charming waterfall near Buon H'Ngo, people around the area are used to calling it Buon H'Ngo waterfall. In addition, this waterfall is also known as: Drai Yang Long, in which Drai is the waterfall, Yang Long is the big rock god because at the waterfall there is a very large rock located in the middle of the waterfall, the people of the neighboring villages. very worshiped and called the stone god Yang Long - the god who protects and protects the life of the village.

Like many rivers, waterfalls, and mountain peaks in the Central Highlands, they are often associated with thrilling and fascinating legends of local ethnic minorities. Around Buon H'Ngo waterfall, there are also stories associated with the M'nong people living around the area.

The legend of the stone god Yang Long appeared by the waterfall to protect the villagers: It is said that, in the past, around the area of ​​Buon H'Ngo waterfall, the land was fertile, the rain was favorable, and the forest had many sources of knowledge. Natural food is available, people in the village just need to go to the forest to have food for many days without needing to reclaim and cultivate like other villages. One day, in the western area of ​​the village, suddenly the wind blew loudly, the dark clouds on the mountain pulled back, the sky was murky, gray, the sky was as dark as ink in the whole area, making the villagers extremely scared. did not understand what happened. Then in a moment the sky was bright as usual, curious villagers pulled each other up to the waterfall area to see, they were surprised to see that the area around the waterfall appeared huge and towering rocks, including a rock. very large located right below the waterfall, blocking the entire flow. Seeing this, people in the village consider this rock "Yang Long".

Since appearing, the god Yang Long has always protected and protected people in the village, not only foretelling things that are about to happen, Yang Long is also a god with emotions, he can understand everything and send messages. message to the painful loss that people in the village encountered. If someone dies in the village, the next day the whole body and rock crevices suddenly ooze out a stream of red "blood" and in a few days, people consider it to be Yang Long's tears, God cries "blood". to mourn the dead.

Legend tells about her H'Srong: Once upon a time, in Buon H'Ngo, there was a beautiful, industrious and hardworking girl named H'Srong. Due to her gentle and kind nature, she is respected by everyone in the village. One day H'Srong brought a basket to the western mountainous area to pick bamboo shoots and pick wild vegetables. With her quick and resourceful nature, she soon had a basket full of bamboo shoots and wild vegetables. After finishing her work, she went down the mountain, on the way back to the village, she passed the Ea Drui stream to rest, bathe, and wash her hair. While immersing in the cool water, suddenly on the mountain a large stream of water poured down and swept H'Srong away. Until evening, her parents did not see her return as usual, so they were very worried and asked everyone in the village to go to the mountain to find her. Going from one mountain to another and still not seeing her, it was late at night, it was pitch black, so everyone had to return. When resting at the Ea Drui stream, everyone saw her basket left by the stream, so they spread around to look for her but still couldn't find her. Arriving by the stream, everyone was surprised to see her footprints, and quickly ran back to tell her family and village elders about the story, everyone guessed that H'Srong was taken away by the water god. The next day, the village elder sent many people in the village along the stream to find H'Srong's body, but went all the way through the stream, searching day after day but still could not find her body. Returning to the village, the village elder informed his family and the whole village to buy offerings to worship the river and water gods. The next day at the place where she was swept away by water suddenly formed a beautiful waterfall, below the waterfall is a gentle flow, like the character of H'Srong, the waterfall does not bring people back to the river god, god stream again. Later, people in the village named the waterfall below Drai Yang Long waterfall as Drai H'Srong, from here when it comes to Buon H'Ngo waterfall, everyone thinks and misses about a diligent, beautiful girl. Nena was taken away by the god of water and returned to the god of rivers and streams.

Buon Ngo, the red address of the revolutionary tradition of Krong Bong district during the resistance war against the US: In late 1965, early 1966, the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee moved from the Yu Jŭ and Dlie Ya bases to station in the mountains and forests. Tu Yang Sin belonged to H9 (now Krong Bong district) to facilitate leadership and development of the movement in the South. At Krong Bong base, with the protection and support of local ethnic people, the Provincial Party Committee gradually stabilized the area of ​​operation to lead the revolutionary movement in the whole province to develop. During the nine-year stay at the southern base, the Provincial Party Committee organized three congresses of the Provincial Party Committee, namely the III Congress (1965), the IV Congress (1969), and the V Congress (1971). proposed resolutions to lead troops and people of ethnic groups in the province to fight against the US for national salvation.

Buon H'Ngo played the role of a revolutionary base, was the foothold of the Provincial Party Committee, agencies, departments and branches of the province from 1969 - 1972, was the focal point of many important corridors, on the mountain upstream of the waterfall. was the venue for the 5th Party Congress in October 1971.

According to the old revolutionaries: In 1969, a number of places where the Provincial Party Committee stood on the Cu Yang Sin mountain range were discovered by the enemy, who mobilized bombers to violently destroy their base. causing a lot of pain and loss to officers, soldiers, people as well as the infrastructure of the base area. The enemy also mobilized commandos to pour troops down to search and destroy our base. Facing the risk of being exposed, the Provincial Party Committee decided to move the agency to station in Buon H'Ngo area (next to today's Buon H'Ngo Waterfall), where the people of Buon H'Ngo protected and provided protection. provide food and food for the revolution. At the same time, people actively relocated their villages to the mountains to work in production and help the Provincial Party Committee operate. Thanks to that, during the years of being stationed by the Ea Drui stream, the Provincial Party Committee convened and organized the Provincial Patriotic Emulation Congress in March 1971, especially organizing the 5th Provincial Party Congress (October 10). 1971), according to comrade Le Chi Quyet, former Deputy Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee: Initially, the Provincial Party Congress was held at the foot of Tu Yang Klor mountain, next to the large Ea Drui stream. However, during the opening ceremony, the Executive Committee received news that the enemy was pouring troops into the area of ​​Buon H' Ngo, so he was forced to withdraw into the deep mountains and choose a flat place on the top of the mountain. to rebuild the hall, the camp continued to hold the Congress. The successful organization of the V Congress is a great victory for the Provincial Party Committee in particular and the people of the ethnic groups in Krong Bong district as well as the Buon H' Ngo people, in Hoa Phong commune in general, contributing to the achievements of the Party. troops and people of ethnic groups in Dak Lak province in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Today, this site is one of the sites of historical significance, contributing to the education of the noble revolutionary spirit, patriotic tradition and love of socialism for generations, especially the younger generation. young.

With a beautiful natural landscape associated with the revolutionary tradition of ethnic minorities in Buon H'Ngo and the relic of the resistance base in Dak Lak province from 1965 to 1975. On October 17, 2019, the Provincial People's Committee Dak Lak ranks Buon H' Ngo waterfall as a provincial-level scenic relic.
